SWM Environment Sdn. Bhd. menggunakan jentera berteknologi terkini, beach comber dan beach buggy, bagi memastikan kawasan pantai di Port Dickson sentiasa dalam keadaan bersih dan selamat untuk para pengunjung.

BERBEZA dengan kunjungan ke Pantai Saujana, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan beberapa bulan sebelum ini, seorang suri rumah, Sarina Salleh dari Cheras, Kuala Lumpur mengakui terkejut melihat sekitar kawasan peranginan tersebut yang lebih bersih dan menarik berbanding dahulu.

Kedatangannya ke pantai tersebut baru-baru ini bersama ahli keluarganya adalah untuk menikmati pemandangan pantai, di samping beriadah untuk menenangkan fikiran daripada kesibukan kehidupan kota.

"Saya akan datang ke sini sekurang-kurangnya sebulan sekali. Saya sukakan Pantai Saujana kerana pantainya yang bersih, pasir yang memutih dan berasa selesa setiap kali membawa anak-anak untuk bermandi-manda dan barbeku.

"Anak-anak saya juga gemar ke sini kerana air laut yang bersih dan persekitaran yang sentiasa dijaga rapi," katanya ketika ditemui Kosmo! di Pantai Saujana baru-baru ini.

Sementara itu, seorang peniaga yang menjual pakaian dan peralatan pantai, Ahata Hamzah, 48, berkata, terdapat banyak perbezaan pada persekitaran pantai berkenaan sejak berniaga di situ tujuh tahun lalu.

"Ini jelas dilihat daripada aspek kebersihan. Sepanjang saya di sini, ada kalanya kedengaran keluhan pengunjung terhadap tahap kebersihan pantai ini.

"Mereka berasa tidak selesa mandi di laut kerana kerap terjumpa sampah-sarap seperti botol-botol plastik dan bekas polistirena di persisiran pantai," imbau beliau.

Kini, tambahnya, saya dapat menarik nafas lega kerana masalah ini telah dibendung secara berperingkat-peringkat mulai tahun lalu setelah mendapat kerjasama daripada semua pihak berkaitan.

"Keadaan yang lebih baik ini juga memberi kesan yang memberangsangkan kepada perniagaan saya," kata Ahata.

Pantai Saujana yang terletak di Batu Empat, Jalan Port Dickson merupakan sebuah pantai sepanjang 1.4 kilometer (km) yang bermula dari pusat peranginan popular, Avillion Beach Resort sehingga Pantai Cahaya Negeri.

Tumpuan pengunjung

Terkenal dengan persekitaran yang tenteram, pantai yang terbentang luas ini menjadi tumpuan pengunjung, khususnya pada hujung minggu dan cuti umum bagi melakukan aktiviti-aktiviti riadah seperti berkelah, sukan air dan bermain layang-layang.

Penyediaan kemudahan yang lengkap seperti tempat letak kereta, laluan pejalan kaki berturap, deretan gerai makanan dan kraftangan serta tandas awam yang bersih juga merupakan daya tarikan pengunjung ke pantai berkenaan.

Menyedari keperluan dan komitmen untuk sentiasa menambah baik mutu perkhidmatan, syarikat konsesi SWM Environment Sdn. Bhd. (SWM) telah memperkenalkan jentera berteknologi moden, beach comber dan beach buggy, bagi memastikan kawasan pantai di Port Dickson berada dalam keadaan bersih.

Perasmian penggunaan jentera itu telah disempurnakan oleh Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Mohamad Hasan di sebuah hotel terkemuka Port Dickson pada November lalu.

Jimat masa

Menurut Pengurus Besar Kumpulan SWM, Adnan Ibrahim, pengenalan jentera itu menjadikan Negeri Sembilan sebagai negeri pertama yang memperkenalkan perkhidmatan pembersihan pantai berteknologi di Malaysia.

JENTERA beach comber berupaya membersihkan permukaan pasir pantai sehingga kedalaman 15 sentimeter.


"Secara kebetulan pengenalannya seiring dengan Tahun Melawat Malaysia 2014, menambahkan lagi kepentingan penggunaan jentera ini dalam menyediakan satu destinasi percutian yang menarik bagi pengunjung di dalam dan luar negara.

"Jentera ini mampu mempercepatkan proses pembersihan pantai dan menjadikan kawasan lebih bersih berbanding penggunaan tenaga kerja manusia sebelum ini," katanya ketika ditemui di Kuala Lumpur baru-baru ini.

Mampu membersihkan 2..8 hektar kawasan pantai, Adnan menambah, buat peringkat awal proses pembersihan hanya melibatkan tiga buah pantai iaitu Pantai Saujana, Pantai Bagan Pinang yang sejauh 1.5km dan Pantai Batu (1km) yang berada di bawah perkhidmatan syarikat konsesi berkenaan.

"Beach comber ini dikendalikan seorang pemandu. Ia dapat membersihkan kawasan pantai sehingga kedalaman 15 sentimeter dari permukaan pasir pantai untuk mengorek sampah dan hanyutan dari laut seperti plastik, kaca pecah, puntung rokok, tin minuman, ranting kayu, rumpai laut, daun kering dan batu-batu kecil.

"Setelah pasir pantai digemburkan bagi mengeluarkan sampah, mesin ini akan meratakan semula permukaan bagi keselesaan pengunjung," jelasnya.

Bagi kawasan kecil dan sempit pula, beach buggy akan digunakan untuk membersihkan kawasan tersebut.

Sekali imbas, jentera ini kelihatan sama seperti kenderaan pelbagai permukaan (ATV), namun ia berupaya untuk membersihkan seluruh kawasan pantai dalam masa satu hingga ke dua jam.

Menjelaskan proses-proses pembersihan terlibat menggunakan jentera berkenaan, Adnan berkata, pencakar sampah atau moldboard digunakan untuk memastikan kawasan tersebut dibersihkan dengan sempurna.

"Pencakar sampah yang terdiri daripada besi keluli tahan karat yang runcing diganti pada tali penghadang penyangkut jentera untuk mencakar sampah daripada permukaan pasir.

"Sampah yang telah dikutip akan memantul ke bahagian pemesong pencakar sampah yang terletak di bahagian belakang jentera dan disalurkan ke dalam corong longgokan sampah. Sampah berkenaan kemudian akan dibuang ke dalam sebuah lori untuk dibawa ke tapak pelupusan sampah di Bukit Palong, Lukut, Port Dickson," jelasnya.

Adnan berkata, jumlah sampah yang dikutip semasa proses pembersihan adalah kira-kira satu tan sehari.

Sehingga kini, SWM telah memiliki sebanyak enam unit jentera beach comber yang berharga RM380,000 seunit manakala terdapat 10 unit beach buggy yang melibatkan kos RM27,000 seunit.

Jadual pembersihan

Adnan berkata, kerja-kerja pembersihan pantai dilakukan seawal tujuh pagi yang biasanya memakan masa satu hingga ke dua jam untuk memastikan kawasan pantai benar-benar bersih dan selamat untuk orang ramai.

"Hari Isnin hingga Khamis adalah hari yang ditetapkan untuk menjalankan proses pembersihan pantai. Ia tidak dilakukan pada hari Jumaat hingga Ahad kerana mengganggu aktiviti riadah pengunjung, selain menjaga keselamatan orang awam," ujarnya lagi.

SWM yang dahulunya dikenali sebagai Southern Waste Management Sdn. Bhd. telah ditubuhkan pada tahun 1995.

Ia berperanan mengendalikan kerja-kerja pengurusan sisa pepejal dan pembersihan awam di zon selatan Semenanjung Malaysia iaitu Johor, Melaka dan Negeri Sembilan sejak 1996 secara interim.

Syarikat ini kemudiannya dilantik sebagai syarikat konsesi selepas Akta 2007 (Akta 672), Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal dan Pembersihan Awam dikuatkuasa bermula 1 September 2011 oleh Kerajaan Persekutuan.
